Jr Wolverines

Program Overview

Woodstock Jr. Wolverines is the feeder football program for Woodstock High School (Ga.). Players in 6th through 8th grades attend Woodstock Middle School and Freedom Middle School and are zoned to attend Woodstock High School.

The program is directed by Max Burmeister and is supported by the Woodstock High School Touchdown Club and the Jr. Wolverines Board of Directors. Burmeister played youth football and went on to play at the high school level for Sprayberry (Marietta, Ga.) in Cobb County. He has had the pleasure of coaching at various levels from CYFA (Cherokee Youth Football Association) to the Jr. Wolverines.

The Jr. Wolverines program is committed to providing young athletes with an opportunity to learn the game of football in a positive environment. We abide by the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), which has a clear and concise statement regarding the behaviors of coaches, athletes, and spectators.

Funding for the program is extremely important and you can help.

GHSA Sportsmanship Statement

"The GHSA and its member schools have made a commitment to promote good sportsmanship by student/athletes, coaches, and spectators at all GHSA sanctioned events. Profanity, degrading remarks, and intimidating actions directed at officials, coaches, or competitors will not be tolerated, and are grounds for removal from the event site. Spectators are not allowed to enter the competition area during warm-ups or while the contest is being conducted. Thank you for your cooperation in the promotion of good sportsmanship at today's event."

Additionally, it is paramount that all adults who interact with our players model positive behavior. These adults should demonstrate sportsmanship, effective leadership skills, and good character while teaching players about healthy competition. Administrators, coaches, and parents must work together toward a common goal: to be positive role models and represent the Woodstock Jr. Wolverines program in a positive image.
